Daily writing prompt
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

To follow Jesus…..

His death on the cross completely changed my life.

I am 51 years old.

I became a Christian when I was around 16 years old.

What happened during 16 to 51?

Do I not believe anymore?

No.

I still believe.

I still pray.

I still read the Bible.

I am still sealed with the Holy Spirit after all these long years!

Would I dare say I am being deceived by God?

Never!

I can only say what Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

I am set free and believe this with my whole heart, soul and mind.

If you meet a person who asks for some advice, start with Jesus first, not the advice.

When He has first place in your life, even the advice you receive is perfect as it comes from Him. That’s the whole point…to ask Him first!

So, how do I get the best advice?

Turn to Jesus and ask Him first.

Don’t turn to advice just yet.

Advice cannot save your soul.

Advice is non omnipresent.

Advice is always limited.

Advice may be a false absolute.

Advice cannot see your future.

Advice that comes from God, not man, is never a lie.

This is perfect absolute advice.

Only then, will you know what to do.

Simple!

Turn to God first.

Never the advice first.

Only then, will you say, “That’s the best advice I have ever heard!”

Then when you put God first place, He will guide you to the best advice resources, and this help will come from a selected person He chooses.

Why would you exclude God from any area of your life?

  1. I love Jesus, too! I am 67 and have been a believer almost all ofy life, though a prodigal many times over. He has broughe through more heartbreak and trouble than one can imagine, but I thank the Lord for every single one because I know He has used and is using every single one to glorify Himself! He has brought me to this point in my life where I know Jesus is real, I love learning about and living the way He wants me to live. I don’t know how to subscribe to your blog- maybe because I use jetpack. God bless you.

    1. What a beautiful comment ! Thank you for posting. ❤️ So nice to meet a Jesus follower. Hard to find these days. I’m 52 and became a Christian in year 11 at High School. He completely changed my life in amazing ways. I don’t use jetpack. To subscribe here…a subscribe button should automatically pop up. Not sure why you can’t see it. Sorry. Maybe go to my Home Page and see if it appears there? Are you in Australia like me?

  2. I’ve been to two places in California. When I was young my
family went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and
Knotts Berry Farm in Anaheim, near Los Angeles.
It was a vacation I still remember very clearly! Then,
when I was 19, (and prodigal), my then-boyfriend-
and I spent some vagabond days in Santa Cruz
It was really artsy and cool back then; not over-
crowded and commercial like it is now.
You would love Chicago! You and your family
could come to church with me! Like I said,
Chicago is not where I live, but I’m not far from
the city I live in the Village of Carpentersville.
My son Christian and I rent a small, but very
nice home in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood.
I love it because I can practice my Spanish and
enjoy the family style atmosphere. I am getting to a
very, very long troubled season of loss My
husband Russ died suddenly in 2012 when our
kids (adopted, they are black ,we are white,
we are a mixed race family
through the miracle of adoption). It took me many
years to want to live again, and I became
agoraphobic, in addition to not being the
available, reassuring mommy I should have
been In 2022 my sweet daughter Rina killed herself
She had been living in Chicago and was drinking
and doing really dangerous drugs. By the grace of
of God, Rina spent her last month on earth with
Chris, me, and our did, Coke. Christian found
Rina hanging in our garage and he even took her
down . I can’t go any further because I’m sobbing
I miss my dear, sweet husband Russ, my precious
Shining star Rina, and Coke so much. What a day
it will be when we are all home in heaven ,
together forever, and my mom, dad, everyone I’ve lost
I still feel married to Russ . I have remained single and
celibate since March 31, 2012. Whatever God says, I’ll
do. But I can honestly say I’m still married to
my kind, intelligent, funny, sweet husband. We married on
    July 26, 1986 ❤️. I’m sorry if I’ve said too much
I just know that these trials were no surprise to God,
and through them, He is being glorified.
Do you have the Bible App (YouVersion)? Maybe we could do a Bible study together, if you’re okay with that. I hope you will tell me
about your life in Australia. Your husband, kids-
whatever you feel like. I am sorry if I shared too much
But we are sisters in Christ, praise the Lord! Helen,
Thank you for writing back to me I wrote a poem
recently, but I’m not a poet like you. Maybe one
day if you want, I’ll share it with you .
Anyway, Helen, thank you for all listening/ reading.
I hope you write back 🙏🏾🙏🏽🙏🏼🙏

    1. What a message! It made me weep. What a beautiful precious soul you are. I am so sorry for your losses. I can’t express how joyful I feel, because even though you went through the darkest valleys, you still believe in Jesus and recognise you can’t exist without Him. What a testimony! You could encourage lots of souls to “hang on” during their darkest times. God’s love never runs out 😉, so He holds us together in the spirit, even when our flesh feels like it is unravelling fast. Yes, would love to keep in touch and talk about God. My email is helenolenjin71@gmail.com. Love you lots ❤️‍🩹❤️💔❣️, from Western Australia (I live 5 minutes from the beach, my favourite place)!
