Heaven’s Food Tastes The Best

Daily writing prompt
What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever eaten?

The Word of God is the most delicious thing I have eaten!

The taste is not always sweet! The taste is not always bitter. When I feed myself with THE WORD, the ultimate taste of HOPE, is the one thing that remains. This stays sweet in my soul.

Enjoy my new poem below!

The poems I write, are to bless you. Not impress you.

Since publishing this post, I have had visitors from unique parts of the world, places I haven’t even heard of! That’s amazing! I’m humbled and excited to write ✍️ in “rhyme” for my Saviour!

Love Helen Olenjn x

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:26-27)

It was healing for me

To call Your name

I spoke to You

It was not in vain

♡♡♡

I asked for help

Day after day

I fell on my knees

I had so much to say!

♡♡♡

I was in year 11

When I gave

My heart to You

The students

Who saw me

Had no clue!

♡♡♡

I felt odd, like a misfit

I was convinced I would

Never serve God this quick!

♡♡♡

I didn’t want to become a

Christian in school

I was waiting for later

I had to look cool

♡♡♡

This poem is my story

Of how my life changed

This is a true story

Not an online game!

♡♡♡

I left Adelaide after year ten

A new page turned over

I wasn’t baptised back then!

♡♡♡

I felt all alone

In this W.A. State

I was sixteen and naive

Without any mates

♡♡♡

I heard a Christian song

Playing in my Father’s car

I felt deeply touched!

We had not travelled far!

♡♡♡

Two sisters were singing…

I heard their words so clear

They had beautiful voices

God truly was near

♡♡♡

They sang these words…

“Long ago on a hill

Hanging from a tree

Was a man I did not know

He was calling me”

♡♡♡

“But I turned my back

On Him, and I walked away

Distantly I heard Him say

Come with me today”

♡♡♡

The fight was real

I had to choose right

I could follow God’s will

Or Satan’s evil likes!

♡♡♡

I kept kneeling by my bed

I pleaded in prayer

I asked God to take

The wrong desires away

I knew He was there!

♡♡♡

It was a really tough battle

To fight and conquer sin

But I did it on my knees

And God helped me win

♡♡♡

I finished year 11 and 12

Truly born again

I was baptised at the beach in Perth

It was raining back then!

♡♡♡

On the way back home

A double rainbow

Splashed across the sky

I know God was rejoicing!

He had saved, Christine and I!

♡♡♡

She is my sister

And I know we are

Spiritual twins

We were baptised

On the same day

And I never regret

Following Him!

♡♡♡

You cannot find God

In your own strength, my friend

He does the work for you

His help has no end!

♡♡♡

I felt a peace and joy

I had never experienced before

This was because it

Was total surrender

And I always hit the floor!

♡♡♡

My knees bent down to pray

I was desperate to be saved

Now I am still serving God

After my high school days!

♡♡♡

I am 54 years old now

I know my faith is real

I know I am sealed with

The Holy Spirit

I know the Bible is real!

♡♡♡

Are you looking for

Another faith?

I hear you ask today

You have been

Following Jesus too long

Isn’t there a better way?

♡♡♡

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the light”

He is either lying or He’s 100% right!

♡♡♡

If He is right

Then the Bible must be true

Not only 50% of it

But the whole book’s

For you!

♡♡♡

Heaven and hell exist

These truths are

Not optional to man

If you don’t believe in God

You cannot erase His great plan!

♡♡♡

So common sense dictates

That you need to pick up

God’s Word and pray

There are only

Two boxes to tick

There is not a third way!

♡♡♡

It’s either true or false

Not a third choice to pick!

God is either an idol

Or He really exists!

♡♡♡

The Bible is all true

Or God’s Word

Is just a fable

Jesus didn’t

Sacrifice Himself

And there was no Cain

And no Abel!

♡♡♡

As you read this my friend

There is simply no other conclusion to make

You either follow Jesus’s footsteps

Or the Gospel you will forsake!

~Steps For Eternity~

Hi Subi prayer partners,

This is my gift to you. ❤️

~The steps you take on earth, have great significance~

The LORD directs the steps of the godly.

He delights in every detail of their lives.

(Psalm 37:23)

God’s home was my safety

God’s home was my guide

God’s home was my comfort

God’s will, was inside!

♡♡♡

But I chose to ignore God’s call

So I stepped out without Him

I packed all my belongings

I wanted to experience sin.

♡♡♡

I left my childhood Bible

I brought my worldly sack

I chose to walk away

I didn’t wanna turn back!

♡♡♡

As I stepped alone in freedom

My footprints came too

They quietly left their mark

Without my worn out shoes.

♡♡♡

Every time I turned around

They disappeared so quick!

I wanted my footprints to stay

But the path was no longer lit!

♡♡♡

Why are my steps vanishing?

Why are they fading away?

Where is the dark taking them?

My steps are vanishing today!

♡♡♡

My steps replied and said

“We have no lasting good”

“You stepped off track awhile back”

“We would have stopped you if we could!”

♡♡♡

You took these steps

Without God

You left His loving home

God didn’t preserve your steps

As you stepped out on your own!

♡♡♡

“As earthly steps, we vanish”

“We will never come back”

“Why don’t you step again”

“And pray for new steps”

“To come back?”

♡♡♡

How do they come back, I wondered?

Don’t all steps vanish away?

How can any steps last

As earth’s a temporal way?

♡♡♡

As I stopped and thought

My heart whispered in my ear

“Your steps that follow God”

“Will instantly re-appear!”

♡♡♡

These golden steps

Are God’s will

They will last beyond earth

These endure and

Don’t vanish away

They are supernaturally birthed!

♡♡♡

In my heart, I prayed silently

I knew these steps

Spoke truth

I hated to walk

In darkness

I now wore

Dirty boots!

♡♡♡

I tossed my boots aside

I scrubbed

My dirty feet

I begged God

To give me His steps

That walked on golden streets.

♡♡♡

God dressed my feet

With His!

God’s feet became my own

I stepped inside

His loving steps

I joyfully walked home.

♡♡♡

I paused and stared behind me,

I saw a pair of golden feet

They didn’t disappear

Like my old steps,

They stayed visible

On God’s street!

♡♡♡

They were left there

For you

God wanted them

To remain!

This poem I am

Gifting you with today,

Is written in Jesus’s name.

♡♡♡

Follow these steps dear soul

They will lead you to Psalm 103

Read these verses on your knees

God’s Word will set you free!

♡♡♡

Daily writing prompt
What are your daily habits?

Present good habits, help to stop future bad habits.

These habits have helped me in every day living….

Putting encouraging sayings on my fridge. When I wake up, and feel the worst, my eyes connect with the message while I am getting my coffee ready. This prepared message, is something I have thought of, beforehand, so it really hits the morning spot! It’s the voice for me, when I have no voice yet!

I put daily unique reminders on my phone that others may consider not the usual prompts. But who cares? It’s for me, no one else. For example, I set reminders for – ways to think better, good sayings, reminders to eat fruit and veggies, soul growth reminders and ways to overcome bad habits. The beep comes on at a set time and I often pray when I see the reminder. I ask God to help me in these areas.

I spend time with God in prayer even when I am not in the mood. This invisible relationship is hard, but it’s the most important one of all.

I keep pushing myself to write my poems4Me even when the motivation has left me. I write about topics that are very relevant to me personally. What’s the point of writing for others if it doesn’t help me too?

I pray before getting out of bed and I ask God to give me His strength. Who doesn’t need help getting out of bed every day? If you pray, “after” you step out of bed, it’s too late. Pray before your feet even hits the floor. That way, as you walk to the bathroom and start getting ready, God’s strength is supernaturally activated as you already asked Him for help.

I always make sure I have my Bible on my chest of drawers, near my bed. This serves as a reminder that I need to read it.

I always make sure I have at least one good book to read on any day. This sits by my bed too. Even if I don’t read it daily, it comforts me that I have good reading material close by.

I go for nature walks “in the sun” and also do strength training at the gym.

When I feel stressed, I leave home in the morning and find a nice cafe and order a delicious coffee. It’s cheap compared to buying an expensive breakfast.

The change of environment really helps me. I am cutting down on costly breakfasts, so I pack a protein or breakfast bar in my bag.

I purchase beautiful sounding, gentle piano sheet music 🎼 so when I play, I have a song I love ❤️, that is tailored to my subjective ears, not yours. Feed your ears and your soul will be glad!

I try to learn new things even at a snail’s pace. Origami is something I enjoy!

Even in cold weather, I still try to go for walks. Today it was raining but I desperately wanted to get out. So I did. It was wonderful.

I try to think the best thoughts, when I want to think the worst thoughts! (7am)

I live 5 minutes from the beach and I try to go there as often as possible. Yes, even in winter!

I write at helenolenjin.life, and I edit, proofread my poems and articles plus I create and maintain the site! It’s a calling/ passion, and I pray that my readers are encouraged by my personal ramblings. Habits! Yup. Even here.

I do online work/ learning at the library on my laptop. To stop the learning habit is to die. The library is my home away from home. My family don’t bug me there!

I struggle a lot every day but find these routines are helpful and eventually, I see soul-progress!

I still repeat certain bad habits but some of the routines above, stop me from making more poor choices. So I guess, these habits are worth it.

A new poem is coming soon. About the God that didn’t answer and the God that did!

If you are new, please subscribe today and feel free to read my poems right now.

By the way…stop writing perfectly all you new bloggers! Just be yourself, mistakes and all! If you try to write, edit, proofread, design etc..at WordPress, you will be put off writing, entirely!! I am in bed typing this and I feel tired & 100% organic. That’s how natural writing needs to be. Not perfect at all and in any place!

It’s 10.56pm here in W.A. now.

Goodnight everyone.

I love you all.

Helen x
