In the beginning God….

Daily writing prompt
List 10 things you know to be absolutely certain.

“Are humans just a bag of chemicals and are all our thoughts, emotions and actions just a bunch of chemical reactions?”

“And would a bag of chemicals trust another bag of chemicals to give an adequate response to a question posed by bag of chemicals?”

Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good! (Psalm 14:1)

Someone wrote the two comments above. I am absolutely certain about that as I just pasted them onto this page. 😊

These statements I wrote below would most certainly be coming from an atheist point of view…

Hello. I am a chemical.

You are a chemical.

Do you trust me, dear chemical?

We started from nothing.

We started from a bunch of chemicals. We believe that the big bang produced the universe. Later on, all by itself, life came into being, including us perfectly formed accidental humans.

Just like that!

We have no creator.

Faith in God doesn’t exist.

There is no hope of an answered prayer.

There is no hope of a miracle.

There is no hope of supernatural intervention.

There is no hope of heaven.

There is no fear of hell.

There is no divine Master Plan.

The universe never wrote us a book about Itself.

Itself is a mystery to us atheists but we truly believe in It.

It is our God.

It has no name.

We centre our whole life and beliefs around It.

We have no book to prove our belief in atheism. Even though we never witnessed the big bang with our own eyes, we still believe it.

I am absolutely certain that these beliefs above, are someone’s opinion. But not mine.

Philip Skell, formerly Professor of Chemistry at Pennsylvania State University, said, “When the facts don’t fit their creation story, secular scientists must turn to alternative ‘scientific laws’ drawn from their imaginations.”

I am absolutely certain, secular scientists use their imagination. Hello conjecture!

So, I am absolutely certain that super brainy humans still cannot be trusted.

But God can be trusted.

I am absolutely certain God never uses conjecture. So, he must be 100% right!

I am absolutely certain about that!

Be thankful God is helping you to believe in Him, and not the questionable bag of chemicals!

Atheism points to nothing. It has no supernatural book.

Have you ever heard someone shout, “Hurray! This is the best day of my life. I just became an atheist and this belief, set me free. Now everything makes perfect sense and others are commenting on how much my life has changed since becoming an atheist. My atheist light has drawn others into my world and they too, are being transformed in ways I cannot explain! I am loaded with atheist joy, as I live as God in my full-chemical-freedom!”

Huh?

Weird right?

Great news4U dear seeking soul….

God’s Word points to everything. It has a book, the Bible!

If you google true accounts of people’s lives radically changing after reading it and then you google true accounts of people’s lives changing for better after becoming an atheist, you can decide for yourself which path makes the most sense.

God comes out “on top” every time!

I like what someone once said, “There are no real atheists in the emergency room.”

So keep praying, God will answer!

“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

I will be posting a new poem soon, titled “Atheism Doesn’t Make Sense.”

I am absolutely certain about that because the poem is almost finished. 😊

Sorry, I listed more than ten!

Daily writing prompt
Who do you spend the most time with?

Today, I want to answer this writing prompt in my usual, unusual way…by twisting it, to suit my writing needs!

Who do I spend the most time with?

I spend the most time with God.

Even though I may not be aware of His presence all the time, He is always in my mind and never leaves. Now that I have just written this sentence, I have an awareness of how Him and I, are always together 24/7. That’s huge!

Usually when we think of spending time with someone, it is with another human.

Today, I am thinking about the other me, “inside me”.

The one you never see but the one God always sees.

She is the one I spend my whole life with.

Spending time with yourself, is one of the most important inner relationships you will have.

This intrapersonal relationship exists in your mind.

This poem that I am posting today, talks about the significance of that me to me relationship.

We often forget we are there.

This is because we are spending time with other people.

“Self” gets lost in the process.

When we become aware of “a healthy self”, it is easier to build a *m.i.n.d.* relationship with God.

Then instead of saying, “It’s just me to me, we say with full confidence, it’s always, God and me!”

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

(Philippians 4:8)

You are always a we

Never a me

Know that your mind

Is God’s supernatural design.

God is always inside

Your silent inner place

The words you speak here

Aren’t muted or late.

God reads your mind

As if your words are

Spoken aloud

He hears them instantly

Even in a crowd.

This outside noise

Doesn’t make it

Hard for God to hear

He still hears your mind

He is very near.

He made your mind, His

It doesn’t belong to you

He made it to be heard

But with only you.

God and you

Are always a pair

You cannot exclude him

But He is always there.

What are building

Inside this inner space?

Is it a mind of poverty

Or God’s daily grace?

Dear thinking soul,

You are building all the time!

Not with cement and bricks

But with God in your mind.

Your mind is like a world

That you cannot see

You can’t stand in

Front of the mirror

And see it visibly!

Remember your mind is hidden

IT talks to you all day long

IT can’t see outside your head

You must guide IT instead!

Consider that a thought is one brick

You then add more and more

There is no building company

Inside your head,

It’s only you, thinking more.

As you think more

The bricks grow and grow

Until finally one day

A new structure shows.

Not a visible

Building outside your mind

But a dwelling that you imagined

Of a hidden kind.

Stop and visit these buildings today

Open their doors

And listen to what they say.

Are these structures sound

And fortified in heaven?

Were they built

With Jesus

Or God’s truth hidden?

You forgot God, was there

When you built without Him

There was a lie planted there

It grew stronger with sin.

The enemy added “one more”,

It was a deceptive brick of his

He always built his foundation

You didn’t notice, it was his!

Do you see a building that’s huge?

Do you see a building that’s the tallest?

It’s the one that towers over the others

And God’s building is the smallest.

God saw humans build, one brick at a time

He was always watching their thoughts

They ignored His design.

They thought they knew better

So they ignored His bricks

Instead they used Satan’s

And he made their minds sick.

Do you see a building that’s the strongest?

Do you see a building that’s sad?

A building that’s spiritually empty

A building that makes you mad?

Aye yes, I saw mine too

I built it so very high

I took the enemy’s bait

I believed his lies.

Then God healed my mind

He crashed Satan’s design

He uprooted the lies

Of a dysfunctional kind.

With a renewed mind

I see IT today

I see IT in God’s mirror

IT speaks to me today.

Dear child of God

Be careful

Dear child of God

Think right

Your mind is

God’s holy place

It shines with heaven’s light.

Leave God’s light on

Every time you think

Remember to build

With golden bricks

God always

Hears you think!

God Is Invisible, You Are Not

Daily writing prompt
Jot down the first thing that comes to your mind.

Last night, I felt really distressed about issues with my teenager, and it felt like God wanted to comfort me. And He truly did comfort me!

What was He trying to teach me?

God is invisible and because we can’t see Him, it can be easy to “forget” His presence because we can’t see Him.

But it felt God was encouraging me so I knew I was never invisible to Him.

HIM seeing “me visibly” really encouraged me.

He always can “see me and you.”

We just can’t “see” Him seeing us 😊.

But He is always looking at us.

He is always looking at you.

Truly, truly.

I love the fact that God is watching me type this message about Him.

All humans are visible to God.

He always “sees us”.

He won’t forget us.

Seeing is POWERFUL.

Faith is HARD.

I CAN’T SEE God, but He sees me right now and always.

This really encourages me as His invisibility doesn’t make Him less powerful, a less of a God, less able to help, less loving and less present.

He IS a spirit.

“For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” ( John 4:24)

He is really really really really with me and knows my struggles with my child and gets it!

God is truly visible.

But we are the ones who cannot see Him. Yet.

Our spiritual eyes are closed. For now.

But, if you think about it, you would surely freak out if you saw Him and you would die.

God doesn’t want you to die just yet!

God said no man can see my face and live!

“But you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live.” (Exodus 33:20)

So, yep, I get it….

But it still does hurt praying to an invisible God.

I really want to see God’s face all the time.

I want to see His changing expressions and the concerned look that says, “Helen, I really hear you and I know raising teenagers is hard but I will help you.”

Jesus said, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20)

“With you”, means right now!

That’s a good 👍 fact to dwell on.

Funny thing…As I am just typing this, I hear a lady talking about God at the other table in this cafe.

I love ❤️ this because other people out there are thinking of Him too.

Don’t Stop Writing….

Daily writing prompt
How would you improve your community?

Facebook can feel like a community.

I would like to improve the social-media community, by removing the LIKE button. Permanently.

There are brilliant posts that deserve a LIKE.

I love to encourage others with my LIKE.

I love when others encourage me with their LIKE.

But sometimes, the LIKE can become your idol.

Did you know that you can buy LIKES? My kids told me….I had no idea!

As Christian writers, we don’t write to get likes.

We write because it is the right thing to do.

Our post remains as a small gorgeous diamond, hidden in the grass, watching for God to join it to a soul. Not to a LIKE.

And not to the whole world!

A seed (your post)and a soul ✨️ ❤️ will only bear fruit when God plants to begin with.

Jesus must be at that root.

The LIKE itself is not the Jesus root.

It is merely someone liking your post.

It could be a carnal LIKE, a tired LIKE, a jealous LIKE, a grumpy LIKE or the millionth and one LIKE, only because the first million LIKED first and you felt the need to follow the masses.

I think the LIKES that get 5 gold stars, are the LIKES that don’t shine much on earth at all. But will in heaven.

I will make a confession….many posts I liked on FB, I didn’t even want to LIKE. I was merely falling in the trap of social media and joining the crowds so I wouldn’t feel lonely and ignored.

As Christian writers, don’t allow the absence of LIKES, to mess with your head.

I sometimes get them, I sometimes don’t. Big deal! God isn’t fussed, why should I be?

I have had over 8000 visits at helenolenjin.life and on my published writings posts, I don’t have masses of readers visiting every week. However, readers still do come, and these are the ones that count.

Short videos are very popular today but who said writing needs to become extinct?

We keep writing, because we know this is God’s desire for us.

Please do not stop writing your posts for God.

The absence of LIKES or the fact that your post is not in exciting video TikTok format, does not mean you are not doing God’s will.

Think of when LIKES and TikTok never existed.

How freeing!

Write like these never existed!

Then enjoy the freedom of Christ.

This is how God’s work is meant to be.

I like what someone said, “Go cold turkey on the LIKES!”

Aye yes, and TikTok too!

Slow Motion…

Daily writing prompt
What’s something most people don’t understand?

Once upon a time, I felt severely stressed about something. At that moment, I really begged God to show me the answer.

His response was so simple it was almost ridiculous!

He simply told me to “slow down.”

I took His advice seriously and it was life changing.

The poem I wrote below is about slowing down. I wrote it for myself firstly so that I would never forget God’s message to me personally. Secondly, I hoped a few others would read this so it would slow them down too.

Many people do not realise that slowing down is the answer to many things.

This poem sounds like a Mrs Doctor Suess!

A song is like a singing story

A poem for God

Is Jesus glory!

The slow tree is God’s

Planted with His seed

The seeds say

Unfollow the Web

Follow God instead!

The fast tree

Is the world’s

Busy and webby

The erratic seed

Is rushed

Withered and sweaty

Slow

Calm and

Wise

Are you?

Or fast

Tumultuous and

Surprised?

Suprise indicates rush

In the slow

You are not crushed

In the fast

You won’t last

In the slow

You will flow

Stop and say no!

No, no, no!

I will not go

My feet are slow

Only here do I know

In the pause

Is wisdom

In the rush is fuss

When I stop

I look

I don’t get hit by a bus

In the stop, I rest

In the pause I nest

The stop here is kind

The stop here is free

The stop makes me pray

Jesus and me

The stop makes me say

I start a new way

How rushed are you today?

Stop and read my poem

It won’t be long

When you’re finished

You will be strong!

First pray now

God help me

Not to rush past

Helenolenjn.life

As I’m going too fast!

Good!

Now as a poet

I have your full attention

Forget the world now

Let me just mention

A minute = sixty seconds

If you only have this

Then make it slow

For then you will grow

And know, know, know!

In the slow, you grow

In an emergency

Speak slowly still Ok?

Drive carefully still

Think slowly still

React slowly still

Going fast?

I warn you

Your pressure will last!

If you are nervous

Talk loooooooong and stretchy!

Let your words last

And don’t become tetchy

Stop talking fast

Don’t fumble and stumble

And mix up your waffle

For then you will crumble

Rush

Equals

Really

Under

Some

Harassment

Since when did you see

Jesus rushing in me?

A cloud rushing by

With a big fat sigh

Is only fiction,

High in the sky

And may I mention

The real cloud is slow,

Fluffy, fat and with no friction

See how it flows?

Oh! You must listen!

When you’re in a cafe

Don’t feel the need to speak

Be like the sheep

Nibbling and meek

In pastures green

Happy and serene

Then listens to others

Who squeeze in more words

Coupled with caffeine

They never observe

To slow down is strength

To listen is joy

To hear a friend’s story

Will give God more glory!

So speak if you must

But slow down with words

Just quietly observe

Don’t follow the herd!

Know this and pray

But let me say

Slow motion

Leads to your promotion today!

Not of your flesh

But rather your dress

Your spiritual dress

Produces less stress

Your soul going slow will help you grow

The fruits of the spirit =

Love, joy, peace and self-control

Since when did these

Put you in a hole?

Since when did you stop the rush?

And unfollow the busy stuff?

Tell me I say

Dear friend, you are going the crazy way!

Your erratic fast seed

Cannot say

Jesus and me

Stop!

Pause

Come with me

To the heavenly slow tree

Uproot your webby one

For the precious holy Son

Here you will meet the Lord

And find

His eternal sword!

A holy place where God observes

Like the verse that says

God is there

The sword of the spirit

Produces light and salt

You finally slow down

Your weakness halts

You build a new tree

For all to see

Not an earthly kind

But one with Jesus in mind

God’s tasks are slow

Then His fruits are birthed

Since when did you produce

Supernatural turf?

Your slow tree produces light and salt

The slow is Christ’s action on a halt

The slow is God’s way of saying

Go from A to B

Not the broad way

Don’t you see?

If you want to go slow

Stop and say

Jesus, you are my brand-new way!

I go from A to B

Now I clearly see

My old tree was built with carnality

This messy tree stops and starts

It’s never birthed with a Jesus heart

The rush with too much fuss

Withers your soul, it’s only stuff!

This haphazard line is way off course

But the straight and narrow, is God endorsed

It’s not messy like the World Wide Web

It’s straight and singular and heaven-led!

So if you want to rest your heart

Build a slow tree, it’s time to start!

Plant the seed from God’s Word

Then you will see

His tree is free!

Your chains are gone

Your leaves are green

Your soul is renewed

Slow and pristine

Stop your rush!

Jesus comes first

He wants your heart

And not your stuff

Don’t waste your energy on the devil’s tree

Save it for God’s

And be set free!

Take The Onus Off Yourself To Succeed

Daily writing prompt
How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

I feel like a dry log without God. (failure)

But a log and God, makes life successful.

Why?

God does the work and I see myself as a log still. (success!)

My poem I wrote below, explains this better!

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

God’s will.

God’s work.

God’s way.

I choose God’s will.

I choose God’s work.

I choose God’s way, I say.

If I choose

My will

My work

My way

Will I be OK?

I most certainly would, argues the clay.

I can see better today.

Hey, hey, I say.

You cannot succeed today.

You are not OK.

You are just a lump of clay.

Let me help you, I say.

I know your not OK! (stop pretending)

I cannot stay! I’m only clay.

I see so well today,

You best be on your way!

Hey, I say,

You cannot be OK!

For Jesus is the way.

Go away busy people say.

I don’t want you today.

But will you have a better day?

When you push God away?

What do you say?

Ok, I’m clay.

It’s odd today.

I see a perfect way.

But still I run away.

I see the dust.

I see God’s help.

I need to choose today.

But be gone! The clay shouts…

I’m fully set, OK!

As jelly gone astray, I trust my own wrong way!

I only bow to clay.

I’m off the track I say.

But this is my way!

But stop I say, Ok?

Your Creator speaks today.

What do I hear Him say?

Why do you run away?

When Jesus is the way?

Choose

My will

My work

My way.

Please do not go astray.

Why not stop and say,

Jesus is the way?

Pairing The Visible With The Invisible

Daily writing prompt
Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.

One of the best gifts I have received is a gift I can always give away to others.

It’s a writing gift that God gave me for you.

Feel free to read any of my poems at helenolenjin.life.

This is my tenth poem!

I love you all ❤️

Supernatural is God

Earthly is you

You unite both

Together

Then you see two.

This joining together

Creates the sweetest love

With a celestial yearning

For God’s home above!

God lives in heaven

This triune God

Is always a three!

Father, Son and Holy Spirit

These three will set you free!

Your earthly plan

Has provisions

Provisions

That you can see

But these

Are limited

And temporal

And not always free!

The things you buy

Have a price tag

They include your

Wants and needs

But these things

Can make

You feel sad,

It’s God you

Really need!

Why do I

Need Him?

I hear you grumble today

Who can meet my needs

Right now

With no delay?

Let me

Tell you

I shout

With care-free

Joy today!

God’s provisions

Are supernatural

You don’t need

A bank today!

God has

No savings account

He works with no delay!

Our God uses

No credit card

He has first and final say!

Don’t think

That your Creator is not real

If you push Him away

It’s emptiness you will feel,

Please stop and pray today!

Your wants and needs

Are never satisfied

Instead replace them

With God’s perfect heart.

Then see His heavenly

provisions

Flow

Then make

A joyful start!

The shelf you see

That looks so bare

Belongs to God alone!

You are trying

To keep empty

Filled

As you believe

You are alone.

Put the onus

On God,

He is your perfect provider

He cares for his creation

But Satan is a liar!

Heaven is gloriously stocked with God’s supplies

These are reserved for those in need

They are unseen by earthly eyes

They are precious spiritual seeds.

What you can see, is visible

And on human turf

The most important

Spiritual jewels

Are invisible

And not from

This earth.

Stop stressing

That your home

Is bare

And your

Supplies are

Running low.

If you open your

Spiritual eyes

You will see

God’s currency unfold.

Even when your supplies

Are stocked again

You will still have

God’s heavenly gold

The good news is

You can’t spend it

And exchange it

To be sold.

God gives you His gold

A measured speck at a time

It comes

As the loveliest gift

That is

Holy and divine.

These gifts may be

Love

Hope

Faith

Or joy

But they are

Always packaged right.

They are perfect for your soul!

They

Shine with heaven’s light.

As you use these

Gifts joyfully

You are

Reminded that

God is 100% right!

You suddenly remember

God’s promises to you,

Your soul

Is filled with delight!

God hears you say,

Goodbye wants and needs

You all expire today

I will kill the

Devil’s lies,

I won’t push You away!

I’ll build goodness

Inside my heart

I have no lack today!

When I pair the visible,

With the invisible God

Everything will be OK!

God Can Be Trusted 100%

Daily writing prompt
What skills or lessons have you learned recently?

God can be trusted! If you are finding this lesson of trust, difficult to learn, read my article below. It will help you believe in God. Once you believe in Him, it is easier to trust Him.

“God sits above the circle of the earth. The people below seem like grasshoppers to him! He spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent from them.” Isaiah 40:22

The ant exists in his own little world. Within himself he feels wise. He feels that he knows everything.

He thinks that his little ant brain is it. The absolute! He knows all the ant hills. He knows the ant trails. He is the smartest ant around. He speaks ant.

He loves crawling into boxes. He thinks these big structures will teach him what he needs to know. He spends a lot of time hanging out inside the square. He knows the corners perfectly. The little escape cracks that take him out of the boxes keeps him busy.

One day the ant decides to think outside the square. So he leaves his box. He figures he knows everything in life but he is getting bored.

On the way he meets me, Helen Olenjin, the blogger.

He suddenly becomes big enough so he can see me.

A big blogger faces a big ant.

We are both the same size now.

We talk.

A bit like the talking donkey scenario in the Bible.

Where you would say, “Huh? That doesn’t fit.”

The ant can understand my English with his new but still limited supernatural brain.

He hears me but he still doesn’t completely understand yet.

I get this!

As I just googled and read, “Each ant’s brain is simple, containing about 250,000 neurons, compared with a human’s billions.” (sciencefocus.com)

He has lived in dirt for so long that is all he knows.

I tell him about life above the dirt.

I tell him about humans.

I tell him about our complex networks above ground.

He hears about our cities, our countries, the internet, electricity, cars, mobile phones, planes and all the high tech stuff. He hears about social distancing. This is very surprising to him! His tribe are super squashed together.

In his world, ants can’t measure the 1.5 meters. Hand washing? Nah, never heard of it! He doesn’t even know what a hand is. Simple maths and literacy skills are incomprehensible to his tiny brain.

When I try to explain to him how to sign into Facebook, I notice he gets really offended.

He simply doesn’t get me! He even refuses to believe in Apple!

But then the ant slowly learns. The more I talk, the more his humility grows.

The ant thought He knew absolute truth. In actual fact, he was dead wrong.

He only believed a false absolute.

“A false absolute is not the same as absolute truth,” I patiently explain.

He crawls home with a huge dose of humble pie on his back.

He thinks, “How wrong I was. I thought my square was the whole world!”

This ant makes me think of a human who refuses to even logically consider the possibility of a God!

My theoretical ant was an atheist! But he made progress!

The iPhone talk finally broke him. He understood that if he could not comprehend the iphone, he indeed was created!

In that exact moment, he grew.

“I have a Creator!” he shouted.

“My unbelief in Him stopped me from growing for all these years!”

OK, end of my ant story.

So where does that put us humans doing SOAP?

SOAP stands for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer. It is an excellent study method to use at it encourages you to focus on God’s Word and apply these lessons to your own life.

If a human had a conversation with God during SOAP/Bible study, we would be like the ant. Blown again by heavenly truths we never knew existed. I don’t think we could even understand God at his level. Just like the ant can’t understand ours.

Now is your hardest SOAP question answered?

Not so offended at the real God anymore?

Yes, yes, yes!!

Finally we start to spiritually grow. Like the ant. We finally understand that the God we were believing in previously, was fiction. God didn’t like your fictitious God either!

Becoming an ant short term was not a wasted SOAP exercise for me.

It showed me how small we really are.

And how full of ourselves we are.

And how wrong we can be about God and life.

We only see the world from our own tiny human shell.

We have a very close personal relationship with our own shell.

We know it perfectly.

We may think our shell is our whole world. We may perceive this to be everything and the absolute truth. We may centre all our thoughts, beliefs and perceptions around self.

Like the ant we may create our own personal reality through it. But is this the absolute truth? Of course not. It is only an ant’s eye view.

An ant atheist thinks the thoughts he has in his shell represents absolute truth.

“I don’t believe in God based on 250 000 neurons, therefore he doesn’t exist.”

“Or because I cannot grasp how the iPhone works, I also don’t believe in God. Simply because both are unexplainable to my tiny brain.”

As you and I struggle to write SOAP we see the reality of the situation.

We are like the ant too. But with 86 billion neurons. Still a tiny brain next to God.

We have a tiny Biwbel (Squeaky voice for Bible).

We wrote a tiny SOAP.

We are SOAPING from the perspective of tiny.

But we still keep going as the application of it makes perfect sense through faith in God.

My SOAP view trusts God and His Word. But not my human brain only.

For the Christian, faith is always stronger than logic.

But we still need to keep logic.

With this ant’s logic and faith, he would finally be able to grasp the incomprehensible belief that God really existed!

When 1 + 1 didn’t = 2, he could coolly surrender to faith in the supernatural workings of God above the dirt!

We become like the ant too, no longer getting offended when 1 + 1 doesn’t always=2.

God’s math system doesn’t always make sense!

Hello faith!

When we use faith and logic together, others who don’t have full faith yet, are more inclined to listen to your Christian beliefs.

So keep talking to the logical atheist you know or the former burnt Christian. Remember that God Himself will open their eyes through faith supernaturally, not by logic alone.

But “logic” can still be an initial stepping stone towards faith.

“Dear God. I am struggling to believe in You. Please reveal Yourself to me. I am your creation. You are my Creator. Please show me the right way. In Jesus name. Amen.”
