“If I wrote a blog post today Lord, what is the first thing that needs to come to my mind?”
What comes to my mind now, is the image above.
Jesus has His hand on the girl’s mind.
Why is this important?
It’s important because your mind is always speaking aloud in heaven!
Treat your mind as if it’s on God’s stage all the time. Because it is. God can hear all your thoughts.
If you heard your mind speaking aloud, the way God hears it, would you not mind, if in heaven, the mind conversation was recorded in full?
I can imagine Jesus saying, “My dear child, your mind is not muted, even for a second.”
Because of this fact, your mind is loud.
Really loud!
All the time.
But this is good to know.
Only because your mind is always on God’s stage.
This fact, helps you to think vigilantly.
Your mind is a “thinking” 24/7 performance, all on its own. But it’s not even aware of this!
But your mind of Christ is!
Imagine reading a big book in heaven about all your thoughts in 2025?
When I write these reflections, I am encouraged.
Only because you and I know that God is watching us think & live on a better new page right now!
As we think better thoughts now, (compared to hours ago when we perhaps got off 👣 track😊)we realise that everything will be OK.
My new thought goes like this, “I see my mind in Jesus’s hands. My mind is real to Him and it is also heaven’s place. God helps me think with the mind of Christ as I obey His Word.”
~Think like a child~
Please continue to pray for us.
We are very grateful for our church, their love, support and prayers. I am very grateful for my readers who come here from different parts of the world and also my WordPress subscribers who are writers too!
Our situation…..
My husband needs to find a new job as soon as possible.
His U.S.A. work company went bankrupt just recently. He is a Senior Software Developer.
I know God is watching me “trust Him in my mind” and this is far more significant than my husband finding a job!
Only because a relationship with God is more important than earthly resources.
Today I had a really interesting conversation at work!
I had no plans to blog today!
I work as a Christian Support Worker.
I work with a gorgeous Christian client who was diagnosed with stage four cancer some time ago. We often pray together and discuss the Bible. I love this pastoral care!
My client and I believe that God wants us to take His commandments seriously.
If we don’t, we can reduce God to fiction and shelf Him away as if He is pointless.
Today my client shared with me this experience that I thought needed to be written down!
How did this Christian she knew, deal with the troubling issue, when Terry (name changed for privacy reasons), continued to say God’s name in vain…. in ordinary conversations?
Meaning, he was not praying to God, but he was simply using God’s name like a constant “fill in common word” during a sentence.
As the Christian observed this, it troubled him.
He knew his co-worker was unaware of his carelessness of speech.
The Christian decided to be silent for awhile.
Eventually Terry spoke.
He questioned why the Christian had been giving him the silent treatment.
These are not the Christian’s exact words as I did not record their conversation, but the message was pretty much the same….
The Christian said, “How do you think God feels when you speak His name, and He answers you? God says..Yes? I’m here.”
“But then you simply ignore Him?”
It was like Terry had constantly been initating conversations with God, the way Christians do, but the difference was it was like He left God hanging and completely ignored Him after that.
What a huge missed opportunity to speak to the real God Himself!
It’s really strange to understand this, but some people are so far from God, that to use His name, simply means nothing to them.
As if God Himself is nothing.
The usage of God’s name like this, produces zero conviction, zero fear, zero desire to pray and zero interest in a real God who truly exists.
Sadly we see this approach in so many movies today!
Even when watching something online, our hearts can become desensitised to hearing God’s name like this! I am guilty of this too.
“Forgive me Lord!”
Some time ago, I watched 👀 a comedy series and it was truly very funny. But later on, I got rid of them.
I thought, “How did I even watch that?”
The actors were saying God’s name carelessly with no respect but as the humour was strong and powerful, it seemed that everyone forgot that great respect for the real God Himself!
I never want to dishonour God’s great name.
I am so glad God is never common and ordinary.
God has a name.
His name is God.
He is our Father in heaven.
He does answer our prayers.
But only when we recognise who He really is.
Christians, only use “the word -God” with great respect and fear.
To speak the word, God, is our most important word in the world!
The word God, is never to be used as a filler word, to fill in boring gaps or to plump up a conversation.
Every time we use God’s name with great reverence and respect, we open a supernatural door that leads to a beautiful ongoing relationship. God lovingly responds to us and we know He is truly real!
God knows when someone is really calling His name or just using His name!
There is a huge difference here.
So huge that a person using God’s name only, will never find Him! Mind blowing really!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And lean not on your own understanding In all your ways submit to him And he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
The Bible is the true Word of God.
Writing about life from a hindsight perspective “after the suffering”, is an important topic for the Christian writer.
This is because we are reminded how important hope is.
No matter how difficult the situation may be, when God explains Himself, everything make sense.
Read the New Testament to learn about Jesus.
This question was once asked in my family,
“Why couldn’t God just forgive our sins without Jesus having to die on the cross?”
I like the reply of another family member, “Because there was simply no other way.”
Jesus is the only way!
What if we asked this question today,
“Why can’t we go through life without experiencing suffering?”
What if the answer was, “No, we cannot go through life without experiencing suffering because there is simply no other way.”
I found this above comment on YouTube.
How do we explain then that we have no choice in partaking of this human suffering?
We cannot explain this fully as God doesn’t always provide answers to every question.
I like to think that the answer is found in the space between the words.
I heard this statement recently but I am not sure who said it.
“Sometimes the most profound statements are made in the spaces between words.”
This place is where we run out of words and we allow God to fill it with His statements so profound, that only by biblical faith, do we understand them now.
Earth has never heard these statements before.
This muted heavenly language is only reserved for God Himself.
When any area in life doesn’t make sense to me, I like to nestle all question marks under Deuteronomy 29:29.
“The LORD our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that He has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.”
Recently I saw this question online, “Can a Christian starve to death?”
As a writer at helenolenjin.life, I am answering this question today.
If you followed my short term Uganda project, you will know why I am writing about this.
Spend time praying to God today.
If you asked fifty different Christian writers this question, I am sure they would all answer a bit differently.
My response is certainly not complete and misses so many other vital areas. But for now, I will share a few thoughts on this subject.
God will never deceive you.
Firstly, God’s spiritual food is what trulyendures.
When there is no physical food around just yet, there is no famine of God in 2024!
Recently when communicating to a hungry soul who lived in Uganda, I had no choice but to share God’s Word with him.
What other option was left?
Zero.
At least GOD was available 24/7.
These conversations I had with him were awkward.
He may have even asked the unthinkable question, “Is it God’s will that I starve to death?”
There was good news though!
This young man was eating spiritual food!
He was reading the Word of God on his phone.
He had faith.
He was praying.
I was very thankful for that!
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 14:17)
“Look what happens to mighty warriors who do not trust in God. They trust their wealth instead and grow more and more bold in their wickedness.” (Psalm 52:7)
A comment I found on YouTube.
Writing this post during famine, brings up the deception of physical food without God.
Physical food is not God.
Physical food can become our idol.
Since when did fruit, vegetables, meat, vitamins and minerals, get you to heaven faster?
A full stomach is not an express ticket to heaven.
A full stomach can be a deceptive stomach.
Remember the rich man in the Bible who ignored the beggar Lazarus?
I am sure he felt very warm and filled but it certainly wasn’t the filling of the Holy Spirit.
It was only a deceptive filling.
Like the Psalm 52:7 mighty warrior!
The Bible states he ended up in hell.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” (Luke 16)
Keep a Bible by your bedside.
Physical food is important.
But not the most important in God’s eyes.
Dying of starvation, does not mean God spiritually deprived you of Himself.
You were deprived of physical food.
Not of God Himself.
I like what Tim Challies said,
“That destination may be death, or that destination may be greater holiness. But whatever it is, that destination is not nothing, it is not meaningless. What this tells me is that any suffering we experience in this life is in some way under the sovereignty of God, in some way under the banner of “I shall not want.” God gives his people exactly what they need in order to lead them where he has determined they ought to go. Where they ought to go–where they will go–is the place that will bring glory to God.”
God is omnipresent.
God’s earthly food, is not the only resource needed, to help a soul survive and do His spiritual will.
What is needed the most, is God Himself.
Man does not live by bread alone, remember?
But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, people do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)
God’s authority will never bow to food.
God is Your Supply!
Not the supplies themselves!
We must believe this!
Otherwise earth can become an idol to us.
When God Himself is our food and drink, we can rest assured, that no other earthly resource is better than God Himself.
God is the One Who keeps us going.
His breath of life!
Not the sliced bread in life!
God satisfies you perfectly. Food doesn’t.
Today, food has become an idol to many.
Food has no soul.
Jesus did not die for food.
We hold food in very high esteem.
Food has an unhealthy control over us.
We think, “If I can just get my diet right, then everything will go well.”
We then hang everything from this root.
But from this root, comes dysfunction.
Why?
Only because we are trusting the power of food more than God Himself.
Meaning, “If I eat YOU right, YOU will give me long life, YOU will give me strength, YOU will give me good health and YOU will help me stay in control.”
Replace the “YOU” words with “GOD” and read the above sentence again!
Feel better? Yes! Me too.
The idolatry of food can draw us away from trusting God fully.
No wonder God weaned me off diets and drew me to only Himself!
“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” (1 Corinthians 10)
It was a painful experience for me during my Uganda project.
But I was forced to view it through the lenses of heaven!
This supernatural perspective truly helped me!
When you go through the difficulties in life, it seems as if heaven has been cropped out!
But heaven is still there.
If God opened your spiritual eyes –
I have no doubt that you would see ministering angels, God’s provisions, new resources to come and maybe even the after shots too!
It’s the hardest lesson to learn but it’s a necessary one – trust God Himself.
Never food.
Never a full stomach.
Never money.
Never your job.
Never your looks.
Never your abilities.
Never your spiritual gifts.
Never your thoughts.
Never anything at all.
Never anyone at all.
Except God Himself.
God knows what you need! Show Him you trust Him fully.
Spiritual food and heavenly strength provided by God is what endures long after the physical is gone!
This is the only lasting power that will keepyou going as it comes from God Himself.
A soul starving to death is not the worst thing.
A soul eternally separated from God is.
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it.
From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life.
And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.
Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20)
“Dear God. Please help me to feed the hungry and minister to your lost souls.”
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
Last night as I lay in bed, I felt the real presence of God!
My bedside lamp was on, and I was resting after a long day.
I suddenly felt God’s presence in a real, non imagined way.
I just knew God was with me in the room.
There was no introduction necessary at all.
God knew that I knew Who He Was.
There was no question about that.
I said, “I’m so glad you came! I love you God.”
God was simply there in the quiet, and thinking about this later, I wept.
“You came to me, God! Really? I can’t believe it!”
This personal experience, does not replace the Bible, but we need to share how God works in our lives, if this is God’s will, and where the experience is truly God Himself.
Thinking about God at the supermarket, I prayed while walking along the aisle!
Rejoicing!
I hope I didn’t look weird.
Here was this woman who looked liked she was talking to herself.
In actual fact, I was talking to God!
I never usually feel God’s presence like in the way I did last night.
I know that I am a saved child of God, Jesus lives in my heart and I have great peace and joy. But usually, I don’t feel God as such, I simply know He is there by faith.
When you feel the presence of God, the last thing you want to do is to watch “Nowhere” on Netflix.
I was just about to watch this gripping drama earlier on, but after only watching abit, I switched it off.
I decided to sing Christian songs on my acoustic piano instead and also prepare for the upcoming Christmas program at church!
It was the same thought that went through my mind as always, “God is better than Netflix.”
It seems the prayer, I prayed for you Willie Torris, to have a bit of heaven in your day, actually happened to me!
Willie, I hope God encouraged you too!
Funny how when you pray for someone else, God answers that prayer, and gives you, what you wished for them!
I wonder if I had not turned off Netflix, and had not sung to God on my piano, but rather stayed right there on the couch, would I have still felt the presence of God?
I don’t know.
But I am overjoyed that I decided not to crash on the couch. Because after this decision, God came.
This experience makes me desire God even more.
He is truly real and truly with us.
I felt His actual real presence but I cannot prove this to you!
Will His felt presence return?
I pray and hope so.
One thing I do know, is that what we are doing, when God’s presence is known, is very important.
If I was crashing on the couch watching Netflix, would God have observed this and just let me be?
What I learnt today, is that there is wonderful beauty in choosing God Himself.
When we seek God in everything we do, we experience the supernatural and our own personal faith is strengthened.
This week, I am on super high alert.
Waiting for God! 😊
God’s presence is so very special, He is like the rarest diamond that can never be found until He actually lets His presence be known!
Then we experience something so precious that a soul who hasn’t even felt the presence of God yet, is moved to tears by someone else who has. This then encourages them to keep seeking the real Christian God of the Christian Bible!
God is 100% real and not just in your imagination. 🙏
I was walking outdoors enjoying some fresh beachy sunshine today.
I was nursing fresh wounds from a private battle I faced yesterday.
I had just taken two rapid- panadol, I had drunk a large cappuccino from Zarraffa’s coffee and I finally had the strength to move my exhausted body.
I looked around and noticed the usual.
The houses. The cars. The street. The lawns. My back pack I was carrying.
Then as I looked, the view changed to heaven.
I saw no cars. Meaning, you thought of a place and you were there instantly. No travel needed.
I saw a skip bin outside someone’s house. I thought about the fact that there would be no rubbish removal in heaven.
I thought about my cacao almonds and choc chip crunchy peanut butter bar in my bag. I thought about the absence of food in heaven.
I saw the weeds in someone’s garden. I thought about heaven having the perfect length of grass.
I noticed the limestone walls in the neighbourhood. Even the black grubby marks.
In heaven, the walls would be perfectly clean.
The streets would be made of gold!
I think now about my sunglasses. The light in heaven is perfect there. How odd not to squint anymore!
I think about my tiredness and sore feet.
I think about the pink windcheater tied around my waist that says, “Good things are coming. Believe.”
I know that in heaven, I will never tie a sweater around my waist anymore! Only because the weather conditions will always be perfect.
I think about yesterday. It was a difficult day for me. I attended some medical training and felt weak, incompetent and traumatised.
In heaven, training may still occur, but in perfection where my old flaws won’t exist.
My memory will be perfect there. I will no longer support someone who needs special care. A Support Worker on earth, won’t exist in heaven.
Everyone will be fully healed. 😊
I think about my mobile phone.
I am using this right now….
In heaven, there will be no earthly economy, no flat batteries, no annoying SMS messages and no online YouTube sermons.
Faith will finally become sight.
I think about the nice lady that walked past me today as I was sitting under a tree, typing this. She had a sandy coloured poodle/spoodle? on a leash.
She asked if I was OK.
I was perfectly OK.
I was just typing this post under a tree so I wouldn’t forget my thoughts. Perhaps I looked a bit lost.
In heaven, no one will ever ask anyone if they are OK.
“Are you OK?” seems to indicate something is wrong.
Thank God, everyone in heaven will be Ok all the time!
I think about the three beautiful teenagers I just met after writing this post.
One of them stopped me and asked to use my mobile phone to call his mum. He didn’t have any remaining credit on his phone.
I didn’t know these boys. I told him I would call his mum for him. She picked up and we arranged to meet near the boat ramp. As the boys didn’t know the way there, I showed them where to go. As we walked, I chatted to the boys. The twin boys were 14, and in year eight. The younger one who was 13, was in year 7. They all belonged to the same family.
They didn’t like school. Just like my fourteen year old son. My heart went out to them. I related so well to what they were saying. My year 8 was horrendous. That year I was bullied badly 😢.
I bought them an ice cream each and we chatted.
The teenager years are hard! Imagine studying subjects you hate, having no money, being treated with a “herd-mentality” at school and feeling lonely.
We spoke about school, vaping and the dangers of addiction.
“Remember the three most important words”, I told them.
“What are they?”
One of the boys responded, “Do not vape!”
Nope. 😊
The three most important words are, “God help me.”
If you visit my Home Page you will read these words there. I always taught my kids that G.H.M. were the ultimate three!
One of the boys asked if I was a Christian. I told him I was.
Their mother came to pick them up and I went back to typing this post!
Back to what I was saying before about heaven….
In heaven, there will be no vaping! No one in heaven will be addicted to anything! Imagine your flesh never being harassed ever again.
Joyfully there won’t be any goodbyes in heaven.
I loved these boys already but I had to say farewell to them. I didn’t think I would see them again, considering the circumstances.
As I waved goodbye to the boys, I sat down by the boat ramp and continued blogging, for you.
Then, suddenly out of the blue, a lady walked past with two cute dogs on a leash. She had a short conversation with a woman standing near by. She left and continued on with her walk and the woman who remained, started chatting with me.
For a long time, we simply talked…two complete strangers, her and I! I found myself confessing my “secret fears” and the thought was, “I’ll probably never see her again, so it’s OK.”
We were both wearing sunglasses 🕶 so it felt easier to pour out my heart!
I found out she was a Christian. I was very encouraged God brought us together. It was odd to share such personal things and I saw the freedom in these “once off and never again conversations.”
It made me aware of opening up “more” to people I see regularly.
It was just what I needed.
“Thank you, Lord!”
We parted ways and I went and bought myself an ice cream!
It’s interesting how one off conversations can be so valuable.
Even if it’s only one time, twice, like today….
This lovely woman and the teenager boys had no idea they were helping me!
God’s souls, are never a one off, to God.
These short encounters I had today, were with real people who God always saw.
Always heard.
Always loved.
Always was with.
Always IS comforting.
God is always with you and me too. ✨️

Have a wonderful week, dear readers. I love you all.
I will be posting another article soon, titled, “Can a Christian starve to death?”
Sounds really gloomy but when you read it, you will be greatly encouraged.
Just as a tree grows and we don’t see it growing, so it is with our soul.
Be encouraged! Just because you don’t see flowers and fruit growing inside your soul, the growth is still “there” and seen by God.
Don’t give up producing fruit of the invisible kind.
Fruit = growth.
We need visible fruits that are seen by the world, but there is also fruit inside “us” that God only sees.
These spiritual “inside-me” fruits are more important than the visible fruits we show others.
Why?
These hidden spiritual fruits are who we truly are on the inside.
They are not fake.
Who fakes it on the inside of self?
No one does.
One hidden spiritual fruit…what is it?
Quick forgiveness. This is an inside act of “self.”
How quickly do you forgive someone on the inside of “self?”
God sees when we quickly forgive someone.
Truly trusting God on the “inside” of self is another spiritual hidden fruit.
No one sees this trust, but God does.
Thinking the right thoughts when everything is going wrong, is also another hidden fruit.
These thoughts encourage me today because it reminds me that God always sees our soul’s hidden personality and how we manage our 24/7 soul for His glory, is the most important work of all.

Pasteur saw no conflict between science beliefs and Christianity. He believed that science brings men nearer to God. As a scientist, he saw evidence of wisdom and design, rather than randomness and chaos. Pasteur said that, “The more I study nature, the more I stand amazed at the work of the Creator.”
But on another topic, I read something today about Christian atheism.
According to Wikipedia, “Christian atheism is an ideology that embraces the teachings, narratives, symbols, practices, or communities associated with Christianity without accepting the literal existence of God.”
In The Gospel of Christian Atheism, Thomas J.J. Altizer said –
“Every man today who is open to experience knows that God is absent, but only the Christian knows that God is dead, that the death of God is a final and irrevocable event and that God’s death has actualized in our history a new and liberated humanity.”
Today, I take a stand for God because I am not a Christian atheist. Jesus changed my life supernaturally! Becoming a Christian was the best decision I made in my whole life. After this happened, I never looked for TRUTH again as I knew I had found His pearl of the greatest price. He was the real deal and there was no more need to search anymore!
The poem I am posting below is about an atheist who wondered if God really existed.
SOMETHING TO REFLECT ON….
Many years ago, the famous atheist Voltaire claimed that within a hundred years, “not even one copy of the Bible would be found in men’s hands.”
According to the Guinness World Records, the best-selling book of all time is the Christian Bible. It is impossible to know exactly how many copies have been printed in the roughly 1,500 years since its contents were standardized, but research conducted by the British and Foreign Bible Society in 2021 suggests that the total number probably lies between 5 and 7 billion copies.
Recently one of my readers got irritated at me for believing in the Bible.
Their message was simple, “How stupid can you be for believing in this book?”
They mentioned how it was all doom and gloom. Many parts of it is. I believe the Bible is true but I don’t like everything in it. I am a very sensitive soul and reading it, can cause me immense pain too. But if you look at real life, it is also full of doom and gloom sometimes. But do you disbelieve real life? Of course not. Because you see it. The Bible and “real life”, match in the sense that both are full of pain in some areas.
The Bible is very painfully honest! I hear you! But the Bible offers the answer to all this pain. Jesus! This is where it gets joyful and eternally better for you, right now! So keep reading 📚 the New Testament and give God a chance to explain Himself.
Now think of an Escape Room for a moment.
My daughter Bianca, went to one recently.
If you went to one with a group of friends, would you all be fighting if you found the way out?
Of course not.
Getting out was the absolute truth, as you escaped!
Why should we be mad at each other for finding the truth together?
Next time a person comes along with a different religious belief than you, love them, listen to them, encourage them and joyfully say, “Lets pray 🙏 and find the real truth together.”
All human beings ❤️ would like to know the answers to life.
We should not get mad at each other for believing in something different.
We need to gently work together with great love for each other.
We are not enemies. We are precious human beings made in the image of God.
This article I wrote below, is one of my favorite. If you are struggling to believe in God, feel free to read it. This was birthed earlier when I responded to Ratley who was not a Christian and simply did not believe! It is quite amusing!
